Rent your domain for $100 dollars a month

Yes , it is true, tried and tested.
read more at : http://rentyourdot.com

I am already participating with 2 domains :

http://d3snetwork.com
http://dragosta.com

(the second is a better example)

this site will just use your error page to attract visitors and display your google or yahoo ads.

How to find the path full path to a directory in your php hosting

just make a php file with the following inside :

print ($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']);

or if you want everything use this :

print phpinfo()

A peer to peer idea - pseudocode

D3scr1p2p specification

2 types of entities occupy the d3scr1p2p network:
Angel
This entity has the server role on the network; it gathers connected peers and releases them to other peers. Angels are advertised in various websites upon connection automatically.
The Angels work like a straight matrix; they have a capacity of 300 connected peers. Each connection attempt by a certified d3sentity is recorded in a log. The last 3 entities recorded before the connection to a 4th entity are sent to this 4th entity. When log reaches 301 the last entry is deleted so that the number of entities in the log stays at 300

The only commands the Angel supports is: hello and an identifier.
Command hello, initiates the connection between the entity and the Angel. The Angel at this point records the entity’s Ip Address.
The Identifier command can be anything, but for the d3scr1p2p network especially, would be: d3s* where * could be C, G, and E for Chaos, Gaia and Eros respectively (The three primordial elements of the d3scr1p2p network.)
The Angel will then record the identifier class letter in an xml document with an attribute: the Ip address of the entity.
This Hierarchy and the xml document will allow for future improvements of the Angel, the entities, or creation of other p2p networks based on the Angels. Each Angel will have of course the choice of the p2p network to serve.

Element
Three primordial elements exist in the d3scr1p2p network, as mentioned above:
Chaos, Gaia and Eros.
Chaos would a peer that shares something more than 100G of data in the network and is willing not to move his files very often and has a good connection
Gaia would be a regular peer that values file sharing although for some reason he is not sharing so much, but he is willing to share less than 100G of data
Eros will be a freelancer, a lecher, his only contribution will be to share the file he is currently downloading and share entities’ Ip addresses.

Independent of their classification, elements will have some common... Elements and they could change the mode of their client application whenever they want, if permitted by the above rules.

The d3sElement, the d3scr1p2p client, would connect to a source of Angels, and connect to three of them simultaneously or one by one depending on his machine.
It will then initiate a connection; say hello, send identifier, and wait for the three peers from the Angel. Then proceed to the next Angel. This would give him 9 elements to connect to. It will send hello to the elements to see if the exist. If not he will keep contacting new angels until he always has 9 working elements.
Each element, upon request using the command: elements would give the requester his current list of recorded elements starting from his current nine, and then proceeding to elements from previous sessions after testing them for integrity if needed.
When an element has enough elements, it will be in a ready state, ready to make searches.

currency convertor using python and xe.com

amountpounds = raw_input("How many Euros do you want to convert? ")
import msvcrt
import urllib
params = urllib.urlencode({'Amount': amountpounds, 'From' : 'EUR', 'To' : 'GBP'})
currency = urllib.urlopen("http://xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi?",params)
data = currency.read()
import re
euros = re.search ( '(\d*)\.(\d*) GBP', data )
print amountpounds, 'Euros are equal to...'
print euros.group ( 1 ) + '.' + euros.group ( 2 ), 'Pounds.'
msvcrt.getch()

use the above code and modify it for your currency convertor

have a nice day:)

creating a robots.txt

That is easy, just create a new text document,
rename it to robots.txt
and copy inside the following lines

User-agent: *
Disallow:
Disallow: /cgi-bin/

The example above will exclude the searchbots from crawling the cgi-bin directory, you an axclude this line, or add more on your own to exclude directories.

How to create folders using a list of keywords from a text file and fill them with files or folders.

this is easy,
say for example you have a keywords.txt with 100 keywords inside, line by line.
say you want to create 100 folders that their name is each keyword.
say you want to copy inside a folder named "cache"
say you want to copy inside a file named "index.php"

just placethe folder somewhere exept the desktop, open a console by start--run--cmd
navigate to the directory
and run those commands

for /f "usebackq delims=" %A in ("keywords.txt") do md ".\%A"
for /f "usebackq delims=" %A in ("keywords.txt") do copy index.php ".\%A"
for /f "usebackq delims=" %A in ("keywords.txt") do md ".\%A\cache"

catchall (catch-all) subdomains using cpanel and htaccess

I have looked around on how to do this but no one seems to know how to do IT. I hope by starting this thread I will get to a solution and help other people searching, as it is a common issue.
This is the background and what I have done till now.

So, I have cpanel access from my provider, also I am a reseller and have whm access.
until now, I found a way to convert : http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://example1.mydomain.com to http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://www.mydomain.com/example1
this can be done easily using the .htaccess file on the root of your file structure: So just edit or create the file .htaccess and make sure it contains those lines :
RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.mydomain\.com
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ([^.]+)\.mydomain\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://mydomain.com/%251 [L,R]

replace "mydomain" with your domain the last line can be modified to redirect a domain anywhere you want.
for example replacing the last line with :
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://mydomain.com/index.php%3Fvalue%3D%251 [L,R] will result in visitors visiting "http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://example1.mydomain.com" to be taken to http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://mydomain.com/index.php%3Fvalue%3Dexample1
ok, all this will hapen provided you have already a folder named example1 in your file structure! I am trying to redirect people without having this folder there.
I tested my domain to see if it catches all subdomains by default by visiting foo.mydomain.com , it doesn't , i receive an error page. I thought i should modify the dns zones. I cannot do this in my main domain, as cpanel does not give that option. so i experiment using a domain un my whm I go to Main >> DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone in the whm . I add a zone *.mydomain.com. 1440 A 123.123.123.123 (my shared ip that is repeated in all the other entries)
after doing that, and using the htaccess file, example1.mydomain.com returns a blank page instead of an error page. I suspect this page is blank by default and is located somewher else, not in my directories. (maybe because i am on a shared hosting plan???)

A guy in the newsgroups told me this after watching a post of mine :
__________________________________________
In fact, before the request gets to the .htaccess file you have created, there are two important steps:
1. DNS (you have done this part)
*.domain.tld. 14400 IN A 123.123.123.123
2. Configure apache web server to handle wildcard subdomains and point them to one and the same location. Unfortunately for this part you need to have root whm account as cpanel won't allow resellers to modify httpd.conf. Anyway, you could ask your cpanel server administrator to add to you domain's VirtualHost section the wildcard directive. It should be appended to the line starting with ServerAlias. For example:
ServerAlias http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://www.domain.tld *.domain.tld

_______________________________________

I have done all this, so I came to a verdict.

I asked my host and unfortunately they will not do it.
So the verdict : If you have cpanel there is nothing you can do on your own to enabale catch-all subdomains.
If you have your own server or access to the virual hosts it can be done easily using the steps mentioned above.
Anyway, I hope this thread helps other people searching:)

rs.movenextloop
act.WriteLine("")
act.WriteLine("")
act.closeresponse.write "'/output.xml'>Output.xml (.xml) has been created
"response.write "on " & now() & ""

If you are a bit familiar you will work it out yourselves, else post comments. This code, should be entered in to a
texfile, and renamed to something.asp

The above webpage, when visited will return an xml document

If you just want an xml file to be written in a specific location use this code :

set conn=Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") conn.provider="Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;"conn.open server.mappath("/fpdb/newsposter.mdb")
sql="select * from news ORDER BY news.ID DESC"set rs=Conn.Execute(sql)rs.MoveFirstfile_being_created= "output.xml"set fso = createobject("scripting.filesystemobject")
Set act = fso.CreateTextFile(server.mappath("/output.xml"), true)
act.WriteLine("")
act.WriteLine("")
act.WriteLine("")
do while not rs.eofcounter=counter+1act.WriteLine("")
act.WriteLine("")
act.WriteLine("" & rs("Short_desc") & "")
act.WriteLine("" & "http://yourwebsite.com/whats_new.asp?ID=" & rs("ID") & "")
act.WriteLine("")
rs.movenextloop
act.WriteLine("")
act.WriteLine("")
act.closeresponse.write "'/output.xml'>Output.xml (.xml) has been created
"response.write "on " & now() & ""

always remember that this is asp code, and must have the asp tags before and after it (<% and %>)

so simple!
no copyrights, i will just be happy if you post comments and mention this page somewhere:)

Format Your Computer

It is unacceptable people to buy new PCs with high specs, and after a month they are as slow as hell.
You are victims and ignorant. First of all I am sure a person that manages to get his PC so slow will certaintly not need so high specs.
Anyway, that is not the point. After troubleshooting lots of PCs, I have some kind of strategy.
Do as I say, and your PC will be helathy and you will have what you need only.

Format your PC and install windows XP SP2.

Do not be tricked by paranoid people about security or ads in the television.All you need protection-wise is :

Install Microsoft Antispyware
and a silent antivirus like Symantec Norton 8 corporate which I am sure you can find on emule or other p2p networks.
Actually windows will release their own antivirus soon, so forget all the other companies, use microsoft protection for microsoft products.
Actually the microsoft antispyware is all you need, exept if you are executing any file you find on the net, in this case you need the antivirus.

for filesharing those are the recomended clients (the only clients that work correctly and are not dodgy in any way and are free spyware free and all this things) :
e-mule (edonkey network)
Azureus (bittorrent protocol)
DC++ (direct connect hubs)
other networks worth mentioning are AresGalaxy and soulseek (forget kazaa is not in the list).
I will make an article about those networks and how to use them effectively and optimise your settings another time, for now, if you have problems with your router/firewall just go to http://www.portforward.com
Those 3 programs will please all your needs for filesharing and will not slow down your pc or fill you with ads.

Video-Audio-Wise
Do not install divx codec for your own good. Instead install a codec pack.
I prefer the k-lite codec pack basic .After this it is almost certain all your video and audio files will play ok.
If you want to play real video, real audio and quicktime files, do not install the original players that slwo down your pcs and display ads every second. Instead install Media Player Classic found here and you will thank me after.
For video players, you can use the media player classic mentioned above and install those too, in case you are bored having always the same:
winamp and Windows media player and Power DVD

If you want to burn cds or emulate cd images use Nero or if you do not want to buy it or use it cracked, use Windows burning feature or the cd you got with your cd-dvd writer.
For image cd-dvd emulation (play those downloades illegal games etc use Daemon tools and not Alcohol or whatever is called.

For internet Browsing do not use the buggy firefox - mozilla look alikes. Instead use Internet explorer which is included with windows, and if you run the updates regularly and have Microsoft Antispyware installed is the proven to be the safest browser. Do not listen to those smart friends that appear to be techies and use Linux. I use linux too, but I admit that Internet explorer 6.0 is one of a kind. Anyway, use only this because I say so. And if you are not happy use Opera , but not mozilla.
Also for mail, do not use this mozilla thunderbird or whatever that is trying to mimic Outlook. Use the simplest client ever, Outlook express, or if you have office, use Outlook. If you get to know it, it is the most powerfull yet simple mail client.

For office of course use Microsoft office and not office want-to-be applications like openoffice etc.

For ftp use filezilla for client and server needs

For instant messaging use either MSN messenger (FACE IT, EVERYONE USES IT) and do not install skype, as MSN messenger does the same job. (You get exited because you can call landlines with skype but if you look closer, for international calls you can find lot cheaper 084x numbers and ... what was the last time you phoned a land line using skype? be realistic.

Of course if not allready go an get a google email address , but htis is another topic, for good web practices.

As you see, I have just recomended 90% of free products that will make your pc run smoothly.DO them, and stop paying for tech support or bugging your friends for your computer problems.
Feel free to post comments and questions or things to add here.

Those are the basic programs that you need for the internet.

My first post

I am furstrated with the internet! I am searching for specific things, and all I get is ads, or people that are searching for the same answers and talk about eveyrhing except the answer!

That is why I will start this blog, use good keywords, and offer only solutions. If the solutions are not complete I will complete it using your comments or further research

thank you.
